Divemaster
Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
The course is divided up into 3 sections:
1) Academics
2) Watermanship
3) Internships
Academics:
The Course is set up as a self-study course. You need to read all the manual and watch the video prior to your first classroom session. This includes doing all of the Knowledge reviews prior to the first class session. During the class sessions, you will cover the knowledge reviews and any additional information necessary to prepare you for your career as a PADI Divemaster. During the class sessions and independent study you will learn Instructor level dive theory, how to assist with diver training, lead groups, manage divers & shift focus from yourself to those around you.
Watermanship:
During the watermanship sessions you will be doing swim exercises as well as refining your dive skills to demonstration quality. You also learn how to solve problems underwater by doing an equipment exchange with another Divemaster Candidate. We also bring your Rescue skills up to date by practicing rescues.
Internship:
After you have completed the Academics & Watermanship skills you are then able to participate in the internship portion of the Divemaster course. This is the final phase of your Divemaster training. Once you have successfully completed your internships, you then become a certified PADI Divemaster. This is the first level of professional divers. During the internships you put into action all of the knowledge and training acquired during the academic and watermanship sessions, as well as the knowledge you have gained through personal experiences.
